In the Grand Tetons (Wyoming), Miranda played around with Patti's camera. Views were huge and gorgeous.

She looked so confident, and then she suddenly looked down at it and exclaimed "I have no IDEA what to do with this!"

On the geyser fields in Yellowstone there was a stream running thru it that had almost tepid water. Lots of kids were wading in it so must have been safe and the Hoffer kids joined in.

I was able to go to Miranda's district competition which she told me was great but there would be no chance they would go to state. Then a day later, on Sunday night, she got a call from her coach and her team was going to State as a Wildcard. 24th out of 24th! When they swam, they knocked 7 seconds off their time and beat 9 teams.

Adventure to Kenya (July 2011)

Miranda and parents travelled across the american continent, across the atlantic ocean, and across the african continent to KENYA. Amazing adventures.

A loud voice

Aunt Jan: Miranda! For such a small person, you have a loud voice.

Miranda: (without even looking up) It's better than being quiet.

Miranda is so fashionable! Black fingernail polish, a scarf around her neck at all times. She likes to sit next to Grandma and has always had a special relationship with her.

Miranda Baptized

Out of the blue, she says to me, "Mom, I want to get baptized. Mikaela and I have been talking about it since August. And it has NOTHING to do with the car accident." She had been rear ended and hit her head on the seat in front (she was traveling with another family. Three days later, on the way home from swim team in the dark, Dad hits a deer. Miranda's seatbelt wasn't fastened and she flew from the very back seat and hit the dashboard. She told her dad, "I could have died tonight." So, certainly these were wake-up calls, but she had been considering her decision for a while. Mom and Dad couldn't be happier. Spent the afternoon at Olive Garden to celebrate. Brianna, another mutual friend, joined the girls.

Important phone call!!

Miranda: Mom, why didn't you call me back after I called you at work?Patti: Honey, I was busy,.

Miranda: But Mom, it was IMPORTANT!

Patti: Miranda, I was sending a patient to ICU. THAT was important.

Miranda: But Mom, I wanted to talk to you about going to the mall.

Yea to Miranda who broke the school record for her 100 Fly and 200 IM at the high school swim meet today....and I had to work :-( (Patti from Facebook posting)

Broke the 500 free

SHE DID IT!! SHE DID IT!! Miranda broke the 500 Free record for her school and dropped about 8 seconds off her time!! Mama is so proud!!

She brought Sarah Wahl and Bronte with her and they spent a couple hours doing the shops in downtown Edmonds, had lunch and then swam in the water. Even tried to climb down to the water by the pilings under the ferry dock...had to call them back!

Miranda finished book 6 and her second year as LIT. I think next year she will leave AWANA and attend youth group with our church. I don't think I can fit any more awards in the cabinet...her's just keep getting bigger and bigger!!

She has jumped 13 feet in practice...today she made 11'7"...not her best, but it was really cold and rainy that day. Hard to stay warmed up!
